Hand sketches with exact measurements (and there are many) for the final drafting.

DESIGN OBJECTIVE: Create conceptual designs for two modular furniture pieces that are made up of ten distinct parts, that are part of a larger collection, and, have interchangeable parts. DESCRIPTION: I created a kitchen storage ottoman and kitchen island. They both feature the same optional pull-out storage drawers. The ottoman has a comfy top. The kitchen island can double its surface working area with a flip-up tabletop extension from the back. If you scroll down, you can see the initial pencil sketches and planning (excuse the water stain). Even something as "simple" as a piece of furniture requires significant pre-planning—and this is only the design stage.
